Interior Comparison

For 2024, the F-150's cabin has been refreshed and now comes with more light, space, and airiness. Five adults can be carried comfortably, which is also what the 2024 RAM 1500 offers. However, the 2024 F-150 features a smart fold-down gear shifter knob. This allows you to gain a flat workspace. Then, you can work on your laptop or tablet when on the road. Charging is afforded via USB plus 12-volt power ports. You can even flat-fold the front seats for a proper sleeping surface. Neither of these features is available on the 2024 RAM 1500.

Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on the 2024 Ford F-150 and the 2024 RAM 1500. Buyers also get smooth and responsive 12-inch touchscreens. Higher trims of the 2024 F-150 come with heated and power-adjustable front seats and leather upholstery. You can even choose a wireless phone charging pad. Automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster are provided as well.

Every 2024 F-150 includes Ford’s Sync4 software suite. The highlight of Sync4 is its seamless over-the-air updating capabilities. Hence, Ford can upgrade your 2024 F-150 with new features in the future. You don’t get this kind of support and enhancement with the 2024 RAM 1500.

Performance Comparison

Ford offers three powertrains for the 2024 F-150. The base engine is a new 2.7-liter turbocharged V6. It produces 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Buyers seeking a V8 can get the 5.0-liter Coyote unit from the Mustang. Here, the V8 develops 400 horsepower and 410 pounds of torque.

Either engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive. Buyers can also choose to get a four-wheel drive. Some trims come with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual gear selection.

The third powertrain is a hybrid system. Ford’s PowerBoost system pairs a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 with an electric motor and a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It is the most powerful of the powertrains, with 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. Independent testing has revealed a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds. The hybrid is also available with a rear-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive.

Choosing the Tremor trim level for the 2024 F-150 adds a locking rear differential and a special four-wheel drive transfer case. Also included are upgraded suspension, 33-inch off-road tires, and variable assistance power steering. The last feature is optional on other trims.

The 2024 RAM 1500 is available in two gasoline powertrains. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded engine is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Either engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive is optional. There's a 702-horsepower 2024 RAM 1500 TRX, but that is at a different price point altogether.

The 2024 F-150's 13,500-pound towing capacity beats the 2024 RAM 1500's 12,750-pound limit.

Safety Features Comparison

Ford outfits the 2024 F-150 with more standard safety features than the 2024 RAM 1500. Every 2024 F-150 comes with blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Higher trims add lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning. Buyers are also offered Ford’s BlueCruise adaptive cruise control system as an option. You won’t find this on the 2024 RAM 1500.

Both full-size pickup trucks come outfitted with a full set of airbags, stability control, daytime running lamps, and brake assist.
