However, the 2024 F-150 features a smart fold-down gear shifter knob. This allows you to gain a flat workspace. Then, you can work on your laptop or tablet when on the road. Charging is afforded via USB plus 12-volt power ports. You can even flat-fold the front seats for a proper sleeping surface. Neither of these features is available on the 2024 RAM 1500.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on the 2024 Ford F-150 and the 2024 RAM 1500. Buyers also get smooth and responsive 12-inch touchscreens. The hybrid is also available with a rear-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive.
Choosing the Tremor trim level for the 2024 F-150 adds a locking rear differential and a special four-wheel drive transfer case. Also included are upgraded suspension, 33-inch off-road tires, and variable assistance power steering. The last feature is optional on other trims.
The 2024 RAM 1500 is available in two gasoline powertrains. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded engine is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Either engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive is optional. There's a 702-horsepower 2024 RAM 1500 TRX, but that is at a different price point altogether.

Ford outfits the 2024 F-150 with more standard safety features than the 2024 RAM 1500. Every 2024 F-150 comes with blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Higher trims add lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning. Buyers are also offered Ford’s BlueCruise adaptive cruise control system as an option. You won’t find this on the 2024 RAM 1500.
