There are a few things you should do ahead to save time and frustration while you’re traveling. For starters, plan your stops and make hotel reservations so that you a don’t waste time searching for adequate lodging. If you plan to do anything like see a show or take a guided tour, make reservations for these events as well. Finally, plan for a little flexibility. Leave room in your agenda for impromptu exploration of things you see along the way. Its a road trip after all.
